Is there any store in south florida which has a large variety of custom rods?
Evrything from bait rods to boat/"Shark" rods.

Not many shops have a large variety of custom rods. They will have house brand some times meaning they wrapped them there and is kind of custom. But the way I see custom is the rod was built for me and my reel.

Dogfish bait and tackle sells "in house rods" in Pinellas County. Pretty good rods if you ask me. Wide variety, lots to choose from.

The West Palm Beach area is loaded with custom builds for sale new and used. Plenty of tackle shops, give them all a call and see what they have to offer. You get better deals with cold cash as opposed to credit when it comes to used rods.

Well coming over to Florida in December and would like to be able to pick up some good looking rods that fish well the first day there.Want as much time to fish as possible ;)
If you compare the price of rods in the US with Sweden ,they are god damn cheap.
I wouldn't get a (good) custom rod under at least 600 Us dollar(If you even find someone that makes custom rods). Same goes for pretty much anything you buy in the US. So I will be stocking up with all kind of fishing gear while IM there.
Will be getting at least 3 rods and 2 reels as well as a shit load of lures. Im a kid in a toy store no matter were I go!

When you get here go online to mudhole.com
buy a blank, ship the blank to where your staying here in FL.
take it to http://www.x-generationfishing.com/pages/custom.html
these guys are good.
Then when you have to leave, go by
homedepot or a hardware store. Buy a pvc pipe around 10ft long
and two pvc pipe caps and mail it back to your house.

They wanted $800 at Betts last time I asked about it, horrible color pattern (multi color rainbow ), A friend of mine just sold a bunch of sharking stuff to Indian Rocks Tackle to help with his surgeries and treatments (Cancer), I still haven't been in there yet. I've lived in this area all of my life and must have passed that place 10000X and just never stopped. I always go to Ricks Custom Rods, Rick builds a HELL OF A TARPON ROD! Great guy too. Just about every Pawn shop I've ever been to here has at least one or two Shark setups if not a bunch. If you want to get right on the sand immediately the pawn shops are a good place to check for a setup you like.

Well im not looking for a rainbow rod tbh :? The big problem right now is i want to be sure i can get a hold of a penn reel 12/0 or 14/0 in decent condition once i get there. the shipping here is to expensive to be worth it.
a rod wont be that much of a problem

They just sold the 14 0 they had but they have alot of other reels.

If your in Ft. Pierce area stop by
Debrooks Fishing Corner
107 Fishermans Wharf Fort Pierce, FL 34950

I stopped by there and took pictures for you of all there used reels they have.

Xgen custom rods can make rods in under a week.
Just talk to them before you get here and try to line something up.
Order a blank you like and ship it to them.

Xgen can order the blank and build your rod for you; they may also be able to hold onto a nice used rod that matches for you for a while, but if you have the money a new custom is always great... plus xgen rods are guaranteed for life.
