Black and gold, hard to explain. It's got the action of a live bait rod almost, sort of soft at the tip, but not like a kingfish rod. Imagine 'live baiting' with large baits. I used it to swim large live jacks and blue runners out on my 6/0 and 9/0 with it and pitch out the occasional chunk bait.
On the other hand, I can provide picture proof that when I fished it on the beach, with 100#braid and 80# mono topshot off my 9/0, I could lock it up on a crab trap, lay on my back with the reel locked down, and have a complete 'U' curve coming off my hips, pointing straight towards the crab trap. The rod has some ass behind it.
