I just received a SHARK UNLTD I ordered from mudhole. Beast of a blank. Couple things I don't like are the butt diameter is too big for any gimbal made. Do you guys know how to add one? I was just going to get a cheap blank and cut off a piece to expoxy inside the bottom of the blank, just enough to add a gimbal. Also it's spiraled.
Yeahp, they are making those blanks again (I'm glad) they are not actual Gatorglass blanks but they are comparable, I went to CHAOS and had the oportunity to test them out, they are the same ones that Mudhole is carrying.
-The Unlimmited is just a tad softer than the original Unlimitted $175.
-The 80-130 is also just a hair softer than the original 80-130, $150.
-The KC50 (10 foot lighter shark blank) was NOT to my liking at all, first of all it is a 2 - piece piece blank - yes- jointed near the but section, 2 -piece, and the price was a Whoping $125 where Mudhole used to sell this one for $80 and it was a 1- piece blank.
The new CHAOS store is very nice and well located, the manager Marshall is a hell of a guy, with his personality ans knowledge he should do well.

Approx. 1.25 o.d. for all three classes and then they add more glass to each heavier class.

Call up Stuart industries they make a reel seat that will fit that blank, it even comes with a welded on metal spacer in front for the big Senators rod braces so that it won't dig in your blank/EVA grip.

I had Marshall at Chaos build me one of his 10' foot blanks, and it is a true beast, I think I can hang a train with that blank, I will post up my picture as soon as I can, I recommend him to build any rod you desire he is a very knowledgeable and honest. Thank you Marshall

I talked to Marshall today and he really took the time to explain about some of the shark rods, blanks, guides and options available. I have been trying my best to give away some cash to another custom rod builder for two weeks and cannot even get a call back
