Vintage Fin-Nor Setup

I just bought a vintage Fin-Nor reel with a nice vintage matched rod with Fin-Nor rollers. I don't know the age but it's probably from the 60's. It's pretty dirty right now but I'm having the reel completely serviced and should have it back next week. It's not a "monster reel" for monster shark but it's gonna be a blast to use. The drag is crazy. With all of the downsides with using vintage gear it always feels good to catch something on a setup like this!

Whoa! That thing is pretty cool! I love the vintage rods and reels. Im looking for a "leather drag" with no anti reverse to build a rod to Tarpon and Blacktip fish :D Good way to bust up your nuckles though  .

i was reading on another site that those tycoon fin-nor rollers on the rod were around 500$ for a set of them back when they were made.

I think I just saw your reel on an antique reel site, Love the old school reel sites! "Fin-Nor Big Game Reel 6/0 - this is a very nice well made big game reel that is in EXCELLENT condition. It is the 6/0 size. It is marked '6B 361' on bottom of side plate. The side plates are about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Nice anodized gold finish. $475.00
