Topshot vs straightlining?
I fish intermittently sandy shores, flats with oysters, mollusk covered pylons, or near grouper holes and structure. Dropping, casting, swinging, throwing, or kayaking bait.
I am thinking 100-130# mono straightlining, but really contemplating just topshotting a good spool of braid with mono. If there is a durable brand of mono that can put up with abuse of molusks and oysters or even being run into by shark, I'd be interested.
Do you topshot or straightline?
What environment are you fishing when you do?
If you topshot, what brand, length, and # of each do you use?
Do you topshot for elasticity or for rough abuse between rod and terminal tackle or a different reason?
Do you think it is working out like you want it to?
What is your opposition to topshot or straightlining?
