im starting rod building and ive made about 7 rods already but i have a dumb question.. what exactly is the 'thread finish/coat/adhesive/self leveling clear epoxy" i know its a type of epoxy right? but isnt there a generic form of this adhesive i can get without buying it from a fishing company itself like prokote..? know what i mean?

thread finish is a clear coat of flexable epoxy like flexcoat and prokote.
