Star Rods' History?

I just got an old Star Rod "Deluxe 81." I use Star Rods for everything! I have my Avet Mxl on one, my Penn 360 Slammer on one, and I have my TLD 20 on one too. So, I am no stranger to them. I know that they aren't a big player with shark rods, but I know they are great for everything else.

I figure someone would know the history of the company, and how it came to be? I know that they are based out of Stuart, and they have something to do with Sea Striker (maker of gotcha's and clarkspoons)

My newest addition to my collection , the Deluxe 81, doesn't have the Star Rod decal that all of my other ones have. It is written in gold marker! I have a custom Lott Bro's rod that has the same marker, and I know that no cheaply-made rod would have this. Someone told me the rod was made before they made there own blanks, which was in 1999, and that is a PacBay Sabre blank. Is that true? if not, have they always made their own blanks?

I would love the input!

the ones with the gold marker are either the customs or old ones. the delux 81 is a older one. mine was 20 years old they said. sea striker bought the company out not to long ago. the areal series rods are good also they are just a production version same blanks i think tho.
