Ya i was worried about being spooled because i will have about 400 yards on the reel

:? :?: :?: :?: That reel holds 600 yards of 100lb braid and your using 80lb braid... why do you only have 400 yards?

Ohhh ok ya i forgot i could just walk them
And what kid of rope should i use for a tail rope/how do i tail rope the shark?

here you go https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com/fo ... 912#p18912

I bought some 9/0 J hooks already and some 10oz pyramid sinkers
What is the most simple way to attach a wire to my 80 lb test braid?
How should i attach the weight?
Many have given me advice but i have not seen one easy way to do it
Crimps?...haywire?

IMO you should use circle hooks, they are almost fail proof for a new sharker. 10/0 - 14/0 on casted gear.
Cast leader... 2 foot of #10-14 of Malin coated hard wire to a barrell swivel then a plastic slide to hold the weight on the shock leader. fish finder rig

Ok thanks! That setup looks good!
But why circles? Isnt it easier to get hook ups on J hooks?

it's all personal preference. I like j hooks because I can set the hook. Never foul hooked or gut hooked with j hooks. Every time I used a circle I missed the hook up or hooked them in a fin a few times in the anal fin.

CJ they state the 9500 holds 600yds of 100lb braid but that is so not true. Most guys are lucky to get 500 of 80 on it. I did a lot of research around the tuna guys who use big spinners and they all stated the same on the 9500.

Ya i saw that too and then went to the bass pro store and the guy was like "you should put 100 yards of 20 lb mono and then 500 yards of 80 lb braid" and im pretty sure thats not going to fit! Lol
How much 80 lb powerpro do you think i could fit?
