I bought a senator 9/0 on craigslist spooled with 100lb mono and every time I put it on free reel to yak out the baits the line pops off the reel and gets knotted as I'm half way out in the ocean. I read on here 100lb doesnt work on 9/0 for some reason. Is that what theyre talking about? Is 100lb too thick in diameter to wrap around a smaller circumference that the 9/0 has? Or could it be bad line? If I need new line what should I get?
No 100 works fine on a 9-0 , but it's a must that you spool it real tight to avoid backlashes like your experiencing. And or
