Rod for a 12/0
Try and get a long rod like over 8'... we have a 6'6'' rod for our 14/0 and after fighting a few sharks on it I can tell you that anything smaller then that will impede your fight.

Bass pro shop has a selection of ready to go shark rods but most are 5 to 6 1/2 feet but i have seen some longer surf rod type rods (may be too wimpy for anything above 80 lb test) for under $100.If that don't work try e-bay or a custom made rod is your next option,,,,Good luck.Let us know how you do with your search.

I saw some rods at a custom shop in Lake Worth today. 9 to 10ft, however seemed very whippy. I liked a 8.5ft rod rated for 50 to 80lb. Some had rollers and others had foul proof guides. Another rod had eva foam that was so large I could not get my hands comfortable on it. They said they would make anything that I want, however I don't know want I want since I have never used a 12/0. How much bend should the rod have?
What would you get!
