What and how often do you normally clean and do maintenance on your reels after a fishing trip to the beach?

it all depends on the amount you go and how careful you are with the reels if you go seldom and are real careful you don't have to do it often but at least once a year god job over those cold arse days when your staying home .. but if you get a real burning fish and your reel sounds funny do it A.S.P.

Do you rinse your reels with water after use to remove the salt water?

Wash with mild soap and fresh water after each trip, and use Penn reel cleaner after drying.

Back off drags after use and during storage.

Replace line as often as needed depending on use and condition. I never chance line.....

If reel is used at all, total break down and tune up during off season in winter.

I mostly shark fish and target record size sharks, so I take no chances. I am a little less picky with my smaller rigs that I use for casted bait or smaller dropped baits. I am VERY picky about my gear, I have always been taught to buy the best you can afford and take care of it like you cant replace it and it should last a lifetime.
