I picked up this rod for 200 bucks with a 12/0. The rod is 9'2 with cork handles, the cork is all chewed up. Im gonna redo it anyways. I dont have a clue what kind of rod it is, bt its got to be an 130 or unlimited class.

tell me what kind of rod you guys think it it?

I have no clue what kind of rod it is but if it has the heavy duty twisted wire guides on it, it'll last forever & the guides won't break. It looks like you found a great rig.

You got a good deal for sure but those old school Aftco roller guides won't allow splices of 100 lb test or 130 lb test to roll through .Try replace the guides and you'll have a fine rod . To help you determine what kind of rod it is answer this question #1 what size tip is it #is the rod black or brown #3 high gloss or mate finish?
The herrington 555 blank is close to 9 foot and I think tip 26,with a brilliant high gloss finish and blank wall thickness at the bottom is almost 1/4 inch thick.

I thought it could be a gator too. But did the gators have that old whitish fiberglass look?

I ended up getting this rod. its definitely a 130lb. Took it up to Indian Rocks Tackle and Bill said it was an old Royal Blue.

:D It don't matter what kind of rod it is. Its one hell of a nice rod . Way to go partner. They dont make many cork butts anymore. It cost to much money to make. :D
