Here's the Phenix I just finished, has a super soft tip, then shuts down about midway through the rod. Perfect for a 50. Finished out at exactly 6'3"

7 guides 25 20 16 4x12

#2 Short and 16" Hypalon

Blank looks amazing with some epoxy on it

Clean, Simple Wrap

Bottom Tiger

Top Tiger

Both Tigers

Have you tried this rod on 80w to see how it feels? The stripper guide may be too low, but i would test it to see how it feels at full drag. That blank should do just fine at 50lb drag. I can't imagine 80-200lb blank. Phenix blanks are known to snap above the highest rating, which means, the 60-130lb SHOULD handle even 130lb drag - sound crazy though :) .

Fished with an 80 the other night, felt good. This rod will do 50 pounds , has a perfect bend at that. 130 pounds of drag would break it, not that you could ever get close to that on the sand.

I love your approach with that blank. In my opinion your recent work is better than most of the "professionals" of today!! You and the rest of the shark community's passion in there gear is awesome!!! i find it inspiration to go above and beyond in my own work. Pretty soon i will be showing some of my own off. please keep posting your rod photos looking forward to seeing what comes next. :D
