You can cast a 16/0 if you wanted to. I know a guy that bombs his trolly anchors out with a 9/0. But a 4/0 casts good my old 4/0w casted great. A 4/0 with a accuplate kit or jivariance (spelt wrong) kit casts a lot better since the new side plates keep the spool aligned better.

how about the reel seat on the 4/0? How big is it? i have a Berkley glowstik 9ft i dont have a reel on . It should fit most MH TO H rods right?
yea it should. i dont have mine any more or i would measure the reel foot. but it should fit most 30lb mh rods
