if they are gonna sell for 500 i dont feel they are worth it. there is a guy here that sells 16/0s for 500 to 600 bucks. and for 500 you can almost get a 50w from avet. if i were to get a 14/0 it would be a old 14/0 back when they were good

yeah im a big avet fan but there are people who dont want a leverdrag packed with braid.
500 for a new 14/0 with ht100's isnt a bad price considering how much reel it is, and no one has used these new 14's so we can compare them to the old ones

most likely they will be like the last batch of black spools they made.

China that's what is wrong with them. I like chrome better any ways. They always have a good story behind them

I have emailed Penn 2 times and asked about the USA China issue.

All i get from there cust service is a quick dance around the subject with NO real answer.

Which means CHINA. Screw that!

I thought penn got bought out by a chinese company a few years back and then last year was repurchased by a USA company (due to chinese company ruining there products). Thus why the new line of reels etc. Whether its USA or Chinese made, id have to see it in action before buying it as you can get a proven used one for 350 or less.

i would buy a used penn. just because they say made in usa doesnt mean every thing was made here. they are just assembled here. if you want a usa made reel get a avet or accurate.
