Hey guys, new here and wanted to run a question by you. I looked at the two Ocean Master spinning rods, the 12 footer and the 11 footer, both pretty decent looking for surf casting for sharks. I cannot find any info on the 11 footer, though. Most here use the 12 foot OM 6-12, which seems to be the norm. I took hold that beast and it just seems way too big for my taste. I mean, great for casting, yes, but fighting a shark, well, just seems massive. Maybe I'm just intimidated by it, who knows? So I got the 11 footer, 5-10oz instead. Haven't fished it yet but did some test cast with it and put some big weight out there, so it cast very well. Also seems like I can handle the thing a bit more comfortably than that thick 12 footer while actually fighting a shark. Any opinions, experiences with this 11 foot OM rod? Just checking around to see who has actually fished it and fought sharks with it. Thanks.
My buddy has landed lemons and tippers on the 12' rod. He just sat down and planted the butt int he sand while fighting the lemon. Rod worked great for him.
