New concept - Custom made GLOW IN THE DARK Shark Rod
This is my first shark rod ever build, and while shark rods are usually used in the nights, well... i managed to make it look like a Christmas Tree!
What do you guys think? Is this too much?

As you may already notice, this is not a typical conventional rod, is using "spiral wrap" to concentrate the fight on the fish. In this way the rod will not have the tendency to twist left or right in your arms while reeling in a nice shark. So, basically using this rod in sand, when no belt or harness is available, will give you more endurance fighting a fish.

Not a bad idea. Reflective tape?
Yes, is the highest reflective tape commercially available - so bright - you can see this rod easy from 300yds, in full dark, and just a headlamp. At that distance, you can't really hear the clicker, but you can see the rod! In other words, when you're away from your rod helping others fighting a shark, because of the breaking waves, the reel's clicker sound gets covered by the sound of the braking waves, but in this case the tape and the headlamp - covers you and can give a clear representation if the rod gets hit.

thats good shit boghy that is a great idea....but i dont think u will be able to figure it out if u are getting hit from that distance.............thats what i think..........
....the good thing about it is that there is no way for that rod to get stolen unless u fall to sleep

Heh, imagine being for away from this rod, and all the sudden watching some blue lights flipping horizontally and moving away from ocean? That would be something - very unfortunate. Never know when where happens, but i hope will never happen.
As far as seeing the rod getting a hit from far away - i'm sure i'll gonna have plenty of time to play with this - but is designed to be brighter more far away you walk. This is not a street reflective type tape, it's way more then that. Actually is illegal to use for road signs due to its brightness. I was around if not over 300yds and i ask someone to move the rod in pitch black, you can see it going back and forth in the profile of the bent. All shark hits are different, so of course not always will be - right on the money - but helps. When you actually using the rod, nothing reflects back to you - sounds weird but that's how works.
I can't see it , I like the concept, but when a rod has extra stiff objects along it, e.g. hose running far up the rod, it interferes with the natural bend of the rod.
But nonetheless, you gave me an idea. There are certain materials and chemicals that glow in the dark after being in the sun and a couple of plastics and such that are permanently glow in the dark, soak the rod blank in that stuff then wrap the rod just a thought.
Just an average fisherman.

There are no add on's into this rod - all build in. Actually what you see glow is the epoxy.

Innovations that are useful like this get a Stcky and a big THANK YOU.Moved it to the more appropiate "Monster Shark Gear"section. What color does the rod have in the daytime?
PS,,,,,I try at all cost not to be 300 yards away from my rod at night,,I don't think I can see that far LOL Also the glowing rod concept in the dark combined with mask and snorkel would be great if you have the cojones to go after your swimming rod in the middle of the night
