I need to know what you guys think is better line capacity or better gear ratio? I currently have a 9/0 with 50# and was looking at getting a international 50 or avet 50 but now I'm thinking I might need more line then what they hold so I was leaning towards maybe a 12/0 or 14/0 if I could get a good deal. This young buck could really use some of the old timers advice?? I also don't know if I should bump up to a heavier line?
14/0 are great reels and they hold a lot of line. If you want to spend a bit more money and have the line capacity and a good drag system I would go with the Okuma Makaira 80w.

Go w a 50w or 80w w a 2 speed , so u have plenty of drag to pull in a monster quick enough so it doesn't die from stress.
