We have a couple of senators 12/0 but below are the reels I have them most confidence in. The one in the middle is an 80w on 130class rod. I don't know if it is as capable of what some of you guys have but so far it hasnt let us down.
Very capable gear you have there buddy,,,,it's defenitly a good reel for shark fishing and should help you conquer almost any of the biggest sharks.It's got a superior drag then any Penn senator but the senator is an oldschool workhorse that is inbread in most of the shark club members minds ,,,,,like that old 1969 Chevy Camaro you've had for 20 years in your garage and know you could never get rid of.The Senator has one advantage and it's line capacity and that allows you to place your bait strategically further out away from the beach and still have plenty of line left to fight an angry monster.The newer internationals are two speed and that also is an advantage when fighting a big fish on a boat that refuses to come to the surface ,,,,,,you throw that baby in first gear and it's alot easier to turn the handle and gain line.
