Max drag to line breakage?

I just found out my Penn Spinfisher 850 SS has a max drag of only 11 pounds!
Right now I have 80 braid on with 50 lb top shot. But still when I get it snagged I can always break it with the drag maxed.
What does this mean, are my knots bad (I only use palamor for braid and the trilene knot for mono)?
But my Curado 300 E has 15 lb max drag and that is no where near are strong as my Spinfisher?
Any help on this would be apreciated.

Thanks

Try 60 mono, it doesn't sound like a huge change but it is alot harder to break than 50.

I just actually switched all of my shark leaders over to 60 mono, next I will get some 80 pound, because I like to be able to drag the fish up the beach with the leader and I have seen no difference with fish taking a bait on heavier leader.
