Looking for a Rod for a 16/0?
How are you building for hundreds cheaper? I noticed you said this awhile ago. A good blank, new, is going to be $100-$250. An aluminum butt is over $100 and a roller guide set will put you around $130 or more. Plus the thread, sealer, grips, epoxy etc. will be another $40-80. Now put in your time and say you charge $8 a guide and $25 for assembly as a profit.
5 guides and a tip (rollers) comes out to $455-$605 Now after you build a few and realize your only getting about $120 per rod and putting in 12 hours or more of work I bet your prices will go up and you'll be charging about the same as Peter. Which is the lowest I've seen for someone to build up a rod from scratch.
