Line on my wifes Trinidad 50?

She is using 50lb pink Ande right now. Last hookup ended in about 3 seconds when her line touched a crab trap rope. I once had a blacktip on a spinning rod with 65lb P Pro run across a crab trap rope so quickly that it cut the rope. Now she thinks Power Pro is awesome and wants it for her Trinidad 50. Alright, question is, do you guys think I should put power pro on her reel? If so, what LB? I thought about 80lb but her TN 50 max drag is 33lbs wouldnt that be pointless? Should I just leave it alone? Go to 60lb test mono? Maybe 65lb braid with 80lb topshot? She just wants more abrasion resistance. I told her to just use my 12/0 with half 200lb braid with 120lb mono topshot but she insists on using her Trinidad and Harrington 540 that I had built for her. Stubborn. LOL, she told me to ask you guys. So here I am. LOL. Any thoughts?

I had the exact opposite happen with mine, I was having braid break on it all the time from rubbing on shelly sandbars so I went with mono and it done better. Probably 300 yards of 80lb braid and then a topshot of 60lb mono would be a better combo

80 cuz it's the rule of 3 at half spool that drag is at 49lbs and 1/3 the drag is at 66lbs so go with 80 should be fine

I'll have to check that stuff out. She's just tired of being busted off. We really just need to move all the damn crap traps outta my way lol. I cant believe how many there are, I can smell the damn crabtraps bait when I take our baits out.
