Does anyone use this kayak for kayaking baits out? Knows some one who is selling it for 137.

I have a lifetime kayak for baits. I do not recall the name but it is the blue, 8' flat back, max weight 250lbs.

It is slow and not good on the way back in rough waters. IT was $135 at Sports authority on a pre black friday deal last year so I could not go wrong.

I am 235lbs and used to paddling so it works for 200 or 300 yards trips. If you are lighter, it will be an easier ride.

Wish I saw this sooner. I paddle baits with this boat, there are better kayaks for that kind of money. It doesn't track straight while you're paddling nor does it go very fast. It's a very flat bottom boat that doesn't exactly slice through the water. Also, it doesn't surf well in the waves, again because it wants to turn sideways dumping you into the drink.

That being said, if you create a fin for the underside and/or a single outrigger (tried double until one broke off, single is best) you'll be much better off than without these things. I've taken to wading/pulling the boat into the water until my life jacket picks my feet up off the ocean floor, then jumping in and paddling like a madman for 10 seconds to get past the last breaker. After that, the boat is pretty easy going. Hope this helps.

BTW, did you buy it?
