So i've been reading and i've noticed alot of you go with the #9 wire, which looks small but i've seen what your all catching so i know its good, plus is cheaper than going with cable and buying crimps/thimbals and the pliers for them....just wondering what brand is this Wire? I wanna buy some to stop the breakoffs im getting. Also, how do you guys do your leaders? Thanks in advance

yea i meant 19. Well my main concern is the sinker..I have a feeling when i was making my leaders like 5-7 feet (which i know thats waaay too short now)...I think they're tails were hitting the sinker and breaking off. At the moment I have Main line, a sampo bb swivel, then about a six inch section with the sinker, another swivel, then the leader/hook. Is this ok?

I usually use around 4 or 5 feet of single strand conected to around 10 feet of cable. I use # 19 wire as my single strand and connect it to a 400lb cable with a large swivell that way i can connect a balloon to the swivell and have the bait float a little ways down pr what i used to do for the beach was tie a large weight to that swivell with light line and when the shark hits its skin will break the mono and you'll loose your weight. Most members from the sharkclub use mono tied to a rock which is then tied to a your bait and will come off when the shark bites, this method is a lot cheaper and I have used it on various occasions. A shark will have an easier time biting through the cable but the cable sure easier to hold onto when leadering a big fish. Also when single strand wire gets kinked up for multiple use then I can just cut the 4 or 5 feet off and added another 4-5 foot piece of 19 wire to the cable which tends to last quite well.

Thanks guys, that helped alot. I'm mainly fishing the jettie from a boat, but I think I wanna try the balloon way sometime. I wanna get into shore fishing but I need to get my hands on a yak first. But thanks again, just found the wire for 2.99
