Knot Kinky Titanium Leader
Has anyone heard of this? I was talking to a bluefin/mako/thresher fisherman at Kitterys Trading Post in Maine and and he swears by it. Its a titanium leader material that stretches and return to its original form immediately. You could tie legitimate fishing knots with it. He said it keeps hooks from pulling on fish that try to shake the hooks and there is never a loss in tautness. He pulled some out and demonstrated it to me and it definitely works as advertised. Its called Knot Kinky 2. Its cable strand, not piano wire, wasn't sure if anyone had any experience with it as the idea seemed great but wasn't sure if it this would actually work when hooked up. I thought it might be best used as a shock leader so that tail whip would never cut you off. Id'd love to hear what you guys think.
I had some lighter knotable cable that a buddy uses for Kings but Every knot I tied in it looked really loose and sloppy and when I tried to cinch it down tight it kept breaking. I told him he can use it but Im not. Works for him, not for me. I like my single strand Malin.
