How To Rebuild A Rod?

I see a ton of people rebuilding rods everywhere. Whether it's an old Harnell, or Gatorglass, everybody rebuilds them. I have a ton of old rods laying around, and want something to do to them    I have built a few rods, but I don't know how REbuild a rod. I think that you can melt of the finish with a torch, then unwrap the old thread. But, how do you take off the old rips and the reelseat?

Basically, I'm just wondering what the process is to rebuild a rod?

Thanks,
-Kevin

u can take off the grips with a razor blade just be careful not to cut into the blank. i also use a razor blade to take off the thread and guides. for the reelseat ill put the rod on the wrapper and spin it and heat the reelseat fully around with a torch then slide it off.
