If I remember correctly the dacron capacity was 900 yards and mono was 750 as advertised on the Penn manual that came iside the 14/0 box when you bought one brand new,,,,,this is on the chrome over brass spools not the black aluminum. We used to argue among ourselves in the club back in the day about using dacron because it gave you more line capacity but we always went back to themono for our styler of Florida shark fishing,,,,too many reef cutoffs with the dacron.

If your lookin to buy the spool and spool it up yourself Fisherman's ideal supply house (F.i.s.h) In St.pete, florida has 1200 yard spools for $110 dollars i beleive. And 5lb spools of commercial grade bottom line (mono) for $41. Cant beat that!

The bottom line Greenhorn is talking about is the shit. Cheap, ties good, and holds up good. I buy a 3000yrd spool of the 100lb and fill both of my 14/0 to the brim.

They were already spooled with 100lb bottom line. I just bought another 3000yrd spool the other day just waiting till the water temp to rise back up than I'm going to respool them.
