How do you build your leaders?
I'm looking for a good leader setup that's "fail proof." Length of the sliding trace and strength, length of the bite leader and strength, how much weight you use, the size of your swivels, and size of hook. Also interested in crimps and knots. I will be tying into 100lb test mono, so looking for a good size/strength leader.
Some on the size use breakaway rigs.
For this I used 15 feet wire(#19) or cable(480-920) with a 12/0 rosco to 15 feet 1000# mono. with a 14/0 J or double J or a 20/0 circle.
For the sliding traces
10' cable to a 20/0 circle, 30-50 feet 700 mono with a 700# longline clip, with a 12oz spider weight.
Very nice.

depends on if im making one out of cable or single strand.
cable is 20 to 30 feet of cable looped and twisted up about 2 or 3 feet and then double crimped. then a crimp in the middle of the leader or around 10 foot from the top depending on the length and put a lead on above the crimp. then a 400lb swivel and cable looped like the hook section was
single strand i use 15 feet of 360 wire to a 400lb swivel then 15 to 20 feet of 400lb mono to another 400lb swivel. on the mono section if i dont feel like tying it i crimp it the same it as i do my cable. on the mono section i put a small coast lock swivel on the bottom half and then a crimp and then a 3 to 6oz egg sinker. the coast lock clip is so i can attach a anchor when im fishing in rough current. and in theory the anchor sliding like that and for around 15 feet will almost set a circle hook if using one. ill get some pics of how i do my leaders.

I use ten feet of #19 wire to a 14/0 VMC welded eye Tuna hook, a 400lb swivel to about 20ft of heavy weedeater cable with a heavy snap swivel sliding up and down it for my weight to attach to. I use weedeater cable or "weedwacker line" because the brand I use is bright orange and I can spot it in the surf easily while fighting a fish, its pretty strong, (Ive never broken it or had it cut), and its cheap and very easy for me to find (I work at a hardware store).
