I own the exact same Harnell .It was owned by my friend Rene (rip) and the rod is in fairly good shape but the bad thing is that it does not bend,,,,,,it's a broomstick.Nice collectible but not practical for our style of fishing.

I have an old harnell similar to the one in this photo I bought it from an older gentleman at one of the Dania marine flea markets according to him a lot of the wrapping is original from the 60's I will see if I can post a picture of it, the rod is absolutely beautiful, I wonder how much one of those things can sell for in mint condition? does anybody know?

Quite frankly I do not see the point in paying the extra $$$ for a trolling rod style (shorter) Hardnell, you can save a lot of bread with another make trolling rod with actually much better action than that broomstick.

The 8.5 and 10 foot Harnells - that's a different story.
