Hello,

I am new to shark fishing. Caught a pup last season and have geared up for my first serious try in a couple of weeks in Anna Maria Island, FL.

Here is my first go at crimping. I used one of the electrical tools that has the cup to cup crimps from the local Home Depot. My leader consists of

1) 20/0 Circle hook
2) 170 lb test steel wire coated in nylon (10ft)
3) Connected to 400 lb weed eater line (20ft)
4) connected to 55 yards of 80lb test
5) connected to 400 yards of 40 lb test
6) connected to Senator 6/0

Please let me know what you think of the crimps, I doubled them up.

I hope on pulling a 5 or 6 footer.

That will be a good starter ..... Once you get in to bigger sharks you will want to up everything.
But always keep in mind you could be going for 5-6 fters and you could get your dream shark ....
And would hate to lose him !!!
