Would a Fin Nor offshore series star drag reel work well on sharks? I have the 20l size.

it will work for smaller sharks but if you want some thing bigger spool it with braid or get a bigger reel

I have somewhere between 40-65 pound braid.

Go for it: I hooked one of my first larger sharks on a plam-sized abu ambassador filled to the top with 60yds of gorilla braid (walmart special.) It was exhilirating for about 10 seconds

Id use it for tippers without thinking twice 
If its packed with braid of course. I use a Trinadad 30, Torium 30, Stradic 6000, a BG 60, and/or 4/0 wides when I target Blacktips and/or Tarpon. If you paddle it out I just wouldnt make long drops with it, or use HUGE baits.
