Fierce vs Battle

Land based shark fishing would be nothing if we couldn't catch BIG bait, but when it comes to the setups we use to catch our bait and small to medium sized sharks i would rather save some money to put towards my monster hunting gear . I know a lot of people fish the Penn Battles, but i was wondering who all has tried out the Penn Fierce series spinning reels. They have combos for way cheaper, but are basically the same reel. same line capacity, same drag, the only thing that's different is the bearings. I have never used the battle, but i have the fierce in 3 sizes and absolutely love them. Any thoughts on this would be awesome.

I just got a sweet $25 deal on a new Fierce 3000... used it for a day and it seems like a fun little reel of decent quality. Never used the Battles but I may in the future.

I have the 2000, 4000, and 8000 and love them all. They have held up really well and haven't had any problems with performance

Awesome! Whenever I get another large spinning reel I may look into the Fierce a little more as to save some money..Won't be a hardcore shark reel but always good to have a decent sized casting setup for 'stuff" lol. My next toy investment is going to be a "BA Slingshot" for bow fishing. :D
