Alan Tani has all kind of tutorials on his website for Penn Reels & drag upgrades.

As best I can tell there is a great amount of similarity on the inside (mechanics) of all the Senator sizes from 4/0-16/0. If you look at the drag upgrade explanation for a 4/0, it will be very close to what you need to do for a 12/0. If you check out Alan Tani's tutorials regarding drag upgrades on Senators, you should be heading in a really good direction. I think you have to be a member of his site to see the very detailed pictures and explanations. He is one of the best! Be sure to not only upgrade the drag washers, but also to upgrade to the stainless gear sleeve too.

BTW - Last I checked, Alan Tani could sell you everything you needed.

Also, I've heard that some guys like the Carbontex Drag Washers more that the Penn Ht-100. Best I can tell... this is because the Carbontex washers can be ordered thinner, and you can sometimes get more carbontex drag washers in the stack and strengthen the drag even more. I'll let the experienced guys comment more on this though.

Good luck! You won't regret the upgrade!!!
