Anybody ever hear about Davis Rods, I found them on ebay. Prices are not bad with a Guarantee. If it breaks they will replace it. It says it meets IGFA Guidelines. Ok here is the bad thing made in china. I am looking for a rod for my 9/0 I just bought. Can anyone tell me anything about them?
I bought a 14/0 on a Davis rod in early spring. Its a 2 piece 130 - 160# fully rollered. I have beat the $hit out of this thing since Ive owned it fishing wise. It's taken everything Ive thrown at it and I haven't had a problem with it. Only complaint I have is the rollers are too small. You cant fish a knot to knot with mono over 100#. I would recommend going with the standard guides, unless your fishing 100 or less mono. Other than that for the price you cant beat it! Bill fisher also makes a 130# stand up rod that I have another 14/0 on that is very inexpensive you may want to check that out too it was only $75 and I got it locally.
thx for the info. I checked out the bill fisher rods which sound good also but I can't get one over here and I don't want to wait until I am there in aug to find one. I'll be sending out my gear at the end of next month so its there when I hit the states. I plan on being on the beach day 2 of my leave. Thats if the wife will let me lol. Thx again.
I bought the 130 class Davis rod for my 12/0 with standard eyes this year & so far so good. I have caught fish with it every trip with no complaints but I have not got into anything really big with it to really test it out though. I would buy another if I needed one for another reel.
I got my rod today 130 class can't wait until Aug Its areally nice rod. Hope it works as well as it looks.

we will put it through its paces David. In our group we have this thing going every time some one buys new gear its the only thing that hooks up on the night it goes out. It has happened like that every time so far. It has become a superstition with us i mean me.

oh its a nice rod i just opened it from its care package from Germany. I was jealous. sweet rod expesically for the cost.
