I've been using 400 lb mono for tail whip leader and have caughten 3 lemons in the 8 ft range but twice the crimps have slipped on big fish I have an expensive pair of crumpets and use the recommended size sleeves I don't want to lose any more big fish someone told me its beacause the mono stretches and gets thinner so the crimp slips what would another option be? Or am I crimping wrong?

Do you have a link to illustrate your tail whip leader? Putting nylon in a crimp sleeve sounds very counter-intuitive

It's just 400 mono crimped to a swivel with a thimble and using 2.3 mm sleeves and then I tie wire to the swivel on one side and main line to other side but it's slipped twice on big fish and i don't know why
