Butt length on a 10' gator

Hey guys, I'm finishing up my 10 foot gator 80-130 that will be used for beach and bridge. Right now I have the butt at 22", I'm not sure if that will have the reel too high when sitting in the sand, I know it would be long enough to seesaw the rod on a bridge. Everyone with a 10 ft gator, what's your butt length and where does this have the reel sit?

I used to have one with 24 inches of cork...made me happy

Should be good, I was never a harness kinda guy. I just stuck it in the sand and sat on it...heh

im 17years old, 6'4" and a gatorglass i just sold had a 28inch butt and all i can say is that is way too big for a butt. but i like a 20inch butt

Butt size is a personal preference. A lot factors such as experience and culture play a role in determining what size butt will make you happy when sharking. The more butts you try out, when sharking, the more experience you will have to make your own decision.

IF you not happy with a specific but size then you can always trade it in or rebuild your rod, when sharking.
