with the microwave trick like bohgy was talking about, ive had grips mis shape after like 10 seconds in the microwave. another way is to use ruber cement as a lube. alot of rod building guys are now doing this and you can stretch the eva to about twice its inside diameter.

jt's method? what about capt.g acetone grips.

Acetone as a solvent is not friendly in direct contact with the blank. I would stay away from any type of cement that contains acetone.
"Cooking" gradually the eva grip wrapped in wet cloth, should avoid the melting. Each microwave has different power, so using common sense in doing it - is the key factor here.

When manufactures makes the blank, they use epoxy. Acetone dissolves cured epoxy. Googleing should return some info.

i use acetone on my rods all the time and have never had a problem.

The rod has the bottom grip,butt cap,reel seat, & foregrip on it.
Should be ready by this weekend. I'll post pictures.
