How does hollow core braid hold up to solid braid as far as strenght and durability? I have only used power pro solid core. I have never used hollow core, and the only reason I would think about using hollow core would to be splicing mono top shot into it to avoid the knot.

I have 200lb Toughline (hollow) on my 12/0. It seems pretty durable if you ask me compared to my Power pro (solid) which has gotten "fuzzy" over time. The toughline over time just seems to flatten out. I use my power pro pretty hard as a mainline on my lighter spinning rods and the 200lb toughline was used as my mainline till a boat took half of it. I absolutely cannot break the toughline, have taken running starts, used multiple people etc. LOL, maybe I'm just a wuss I don't know. Its a few years old now. It cost a small fortune, I cant bear to get rid of it. Its now backing under 120lb mono. I really like the stuff, just expensive.
