It is a Shimano TLD 30a I put power pro 50 lb braid on it. I have two rods that I can switch back and forth depending on where I am fishing. One is an Ugly stick 7 ft rated for 150 lb test line. The other is a 10ft Ugly Stick surf rod. Wanting to know on how I stand with what I have. I will be putting it to the test in June with some of my other set up equipment.

Like The Idea Of Power Pro, But Lately Mono Seems To Do The Trick Against Monster Fish :? :D ;)

My main reason for that was the added amount of line I can add. I will also be using the reel for some fishing off of a boat.

Yea... You Need Distance For Big Fish, But As We Been Finding Out On Monster Jacks & Cudas For The Past 3 Weeks It Doesnt Hold The Strength. If Your On A Boat Then That Should Be O.K. ;)

So what would be a good all around line? I am open to suggestions since the line is still in the box. I also still need good castability.

Ok good deal. I will be surf fishing just about every day while there. The big disadvantage is I dont have a boat so I will have to muscle my rig out.

Theirs No Reason To Muscle Your Rig Out With Braid, It Will Get Out There Fairly Easy, What I Do Recomend Is A Top Shot Of Heavy Mono, Cause You Cant Set Hook With Straight Braid ;)

Cool I would enjoy getting another person out on the surf that has landed some nice ones. Also open to pointers on what beaches turn the best results
