as long as its not a international your good. keep your money in America. internationals say they are made here but they are just assembled here every thing is machined over seas by a little kid working for a bowl of rice.

I've owned almost every setup imaginable, and honestly, a 12/0 with 100/130lb mono will stop 99% of the sharks out there. The rod's up to you but the 10' 80-130lb gator blank, made by blackfin (which btw are only $99 on mudhole) is great, whether built full length or cut to 8.5-9' (as many members here, including myself, have had done.) If I were you I'd spend the money you save on the reel to have it spooled by basil (www.bhptackle.com), buy a spool of momoi diamond 100/130lb to topshot (learn to tie a bimini twist to modified palomar), and have a good builder such as barrett rods or one of the guys over on bdoutdoors (saltydawg is the f*cking master) build the rod for you. Additionally, a shoulder harness makes it a lil easier to fight while sitting in the sand, and don't forget how expensive terminal tackle can be :o Good luck man.

Sick, I'm selling a 16 now to put together the setup I just described (12 on a 10' gator; cut to 8.5')
