3 choices. Penn 113h2lw, Jigmaster, Daiwa Sha-50

I have three choices of reels keeping me up at night. the Penn 4/0w, Jigmaster, Daiwa Sha-50. I need to pick one for casting in the surf for 5-7' sharks...... They all have pros and cons but which is the best choice for distance-line capacity-ease of use-drag for this size of target. I'm not new to surf fishing but I am to medium sized conventionals. Will probably be strapped to an OM 10 or 12 heavy, would like to run 30# mono with an 80# topshot. I have compared specs for days but that doesn't hold a candle light to information from the people who have been to war with these reels. I know the topic is highly subjective but all opinions are appreciated.

I have heard good things about the jigmaster but no for targeting sharks. I don't have any of these reels so I can't really say much.

Why 30lb mono? If you want mono go 40-50 IMO. I would suggest getting 300yds of 65lb braid backing and mono topshot

I wanted to use mono for cost, and I figured 30# would give me the best strength for capacity. If I bought the 4/0w I would do 40# but I hear the casting distance really suffers on a larger reel like that. I don't have the option to yak bait so I need something that will get the bait to the fish and still be able to fight when/if something takes hold. My decision would be easier if I was familiar with the ocean topography of Sanibel so I would have the exact distance needed to cast but I don't have that information. Since you have no experience with any of these reels what reel do you recommend for my application?

I like spinning reels myself for shore casting and don't have any baitcasters (that I would recond for easy coast sharking). But you said you liked bait casting so I'm not to helpful, sorry

Sealine 50sha with 30lb mono will be the better choice. It handles sand bars and bulls to 7ft no problem. You can even back it with 300yrds 50lb braid then top off with 30lb mono for extra capacity but I've never needed it.

I've seen 25 yard cast catch 7ft lemon sharks in that area. Gett a spinning reel. Never have to deal with a birds nest at night. Check out the fin nor 100 and 9500. Look at the Penn 7500, 8500 and 9500. All proven and good prices
