Hey guys I have some 200lb "solid white" hollowcore dacron that came on the bottom of my 14/0 everol. Anyone know of the diameter? Just trying to get a realistic idea on how much line I have on the reel and if I think it will be worth it in the longrun to switch out to braid on bottom. Thanks

My 130lb Dacron is just about the same diameter as the mono equivelent BUT due to being hollow it flattens out quite a bit. But if you're looking for crazy line capacity my 200lb Tuffline is 50lb test mono diameter. I fit like 1100yds of it on my 12/0. Keep in mind a 1200yd spool cost me just under $200.00 (taxfree cost). Should fit WAY more braid backing than dacron though.

Most 130lb dacrons have a diameter similar to 80lb monos. I know braid will give me a ton more yardage but at this point if I am close to 1000 yards I wont bother wasting my money until I am dumped (unlikely to occur).

Now that I looked at it, I think you're right. The 130 dacron is likely closer to 80lb mono diameter, looks like it. If you have access to a boat or bridge with nice tide (Skyway, Desoto, etc.) You could just get like 2-3 balloons and balloon all of you're line out or something and eyeball it  Kind of a pain in the butt but it would give you an idea? Kinda crazy though.
