That rig is the craziest thing I have ever seen greatwhitehunter, it looks strait from shark men.

As for line, why do you guys swear by mono and not Dacron, aren't both abrasion resistant and Dacron is slightly thinner correct?

bullbuster 200lb test is the best... ive been there and it didnt break, ive been caught up on the reef with 4 guys running with me trying to break it and we couldent break it. they say a carpenter is only as good as his tools, i belive its the same way in fishing. garbage reels = lost fish
slow reels = cut line
47 lb drag = geting spooled

ive moved up from the senators i rather have less line and more power, but thats just my opinion

big hammer challange get ready

1.duel 12/ws = 90 lb drag + springs = 150 lb drag
2.avet 80 2 speed
3.avet 80 2 speed

im not going to play with them this year

X2 Im not stateside yet, however I am getting ready to head to Fort Bragg NC, and hit the Outer Banks Hard. My two top contenders are:

Accurate ATD 130
Dual 12/0 WS

200lb mono is more difficult to find. Does any one have a list of manafactures/prices for 200lb and 150lb or 175lb?

Lindgren Pittman 250 LB is 1.6mm which is the same diameter of some other brands' 200 LB. Give them a shot. They sell 5lb Skeins for $45. Takes a little longer to spool up but worth the savings for about 1100 yds of line.

SNL tackle sells 200lb mono, a spool of 1,600 yards is approximately 70 bucks. I have it on my Everol 18/0 along with 600 yards of Jerry Brown Hollow core 200lb test as back up. Havnt seen the braid yet on the Everol. After about the 10th trip this year the line is holding up well.

Furthermore, I have discovered that sharks are not afraid of 3/8 or bigger cable or chain. They also are not afraid to pick up giant hooks or giant bait. This is a big learning curve for me.
