Where can I buy the parts needed to get the 60 lbs out of a 14/0?
How much should it cost?
Is it simple to instal myself or do I need a pro to do it?

Thanks

You can get the parts from Penn, scott's, or even ebay.

You will want the HT 100 drag kit. It is a set of carbon fiber and steel washers.

Price range is about $50-$60 for kit. There are 7 carbon fiber washers and 7 steel washers.

Eaby Listing: PENN REEL PARTS NEW COMPLETE HT-100 DRAG SET #007X117

Add one more carbon fiber washer and one more steel washer for stack height. I spoke to the tech guy at the tackle shop and he said the stacking adds some drag pressure but the increase minimal. The biggest increase comes from upgrading to the HT 100's over the old style.

Remember, the 14/0 is also the 117 when searching for parts.

Changing the drag washers is extremely simple.

Check out the schematics below:

All you have to do is remove the handle to get to the drag system and then swap the washers. Make note of the order of the washers. I think they are simply stacked carbon/steel/carbon/steel......

When I cleaned up my drag, I took apart the reel on the tile floor and just placed each piece on the floor as it came off.

You can lightly grease the washers or put them in dry. That is a another debate. If you choose to grease them up, remember, it is just a fine layer. Wipe the grease on, then wipe it off. You just want to see a little shine or haze.
