2010 SFSC Sharker of the Month (Jan-Dec 2010)

Chris Solomoni (snookhunter)our resident yankee shark hunter in the club has taken to the sport of land-based shark fishing in a big way in 2010 .He was a very intregal part of Team Shark Fever in the 2010 Big Hammer Challenge catching some very respectable hammerheads in the month long tournament .We have seen this enthusiastic and funny fisherman who is always planning the next shark trip grow by leaps and bounds in his shark fishing this entire year.He started fishing as a child in Montauk New York and has graduated to big time monster fishing in Florida over the last several years.We are honored to have talented fisherman like Chris in our club and representing the sport in big way.Chris is a new representative of the shark club for 2011 and we are looking forward to working with him on the many shark club projects throughout the year.Chris is a medical professional ,a dedicated family man and an ardent shark fisherman that will be a big addition to the shark club.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Here's his spectacular catch on 30 lb spinning tackle.There were bigger sharks caught by club members during October 2010 but this catch is notable because it was caught using light tackle and was also videotaped for our enjoyment

A neighbor picked me up for a quick morning trip before a big work meeting. He landed a nice Jack that I now have in my freezer for shark bait.

Greg landed a 26 inch cuda on his first cast at our second spot and I free lined it out. The cuda went due east and got nailed in 10 min. I had a 60lb mono leader with 30lb braid and a 4/0 circle hook on a 9ft graphite rod. I was set up for tarpon, but hey, I'll send that cuda out. Below is a video.

November fishing can be tricky for us in Florida sometimes the wind is howling and the surf is rough , the cold fronts start blowing in and shut down the shark fishing but when we get some warm water and a near full moon it's the perfect combination for the savvy hunter.Shannon Bustamante has developed into a very skillful shark hunter .HARDCORE and FEARLESS are words that describe this Rene de Dios prodigy.His catch of an almost 10 foot Great Hammerhead in November makes him our SHARKER OF THE MONTH.Congratulations Shannon.

OUR NOVEMBER SHARKER OF THE MONTH-SHANNON BUSTAMANTE

Had to light a fire on some hard core club members butts recently after seeing what Team Rebel has been doing on the beach recently.With the full moon I knew it was time to get moving or lose a wonderful oppurtunity.I told my boys look around you see the moon phase, the wind is moderate ,the surf is light right now this is a window we need to jump on right now !!!!We must hit the beach now-- FULL MOON BABY!!!!Gotta do it now before old man winter moves in on us hard.We hit right firing on all pistons and had success.Here is the quick report.One big hammer caught and one beast lost that took me down to the braid backing.Charged at first so it was a big hammer I'm almost 100% sure.

Thanks Will for all the help... I really put in hours and hours of hardcore fishing this past hammer challenge and prior tourneys, but i kinda got burnt out after our last ft.pierce trip.... I willl Side by side with you this march throughmay putting out king kong baits and chasing the
monster we both dream of, only thing is i know bartend and work as a waiter on top of my duties as a flowr shop owner so i will be limited to one or two days a week.....

I must admit that our annual end of year party does always get me pumped up and gives me the fever watching old videos and hearing stories.............

That is a hell of a catch for Nov, or any other month for that matter..I see the shark bite has diminished quite a bit in the past month or so.

I'm not sure who has the bigger GRIN - Mr. Hammer or Mr. Seaweed
