Any of you west coast guys been having any luck over here catching anything other than fish in the back water?
i fished christmas night without a single run. it seems that the only place to catch fish is in the backwater and right now were catching little snook 24in or less. hopefully the offshore bite is alot better
Yea I expected it to slow down, but the bites been non existant. Where are these "winter" sharks that are supposed to be here?
the sandbars wer thick last year this time but now theres nothing
My buddy Nick (zasik) has caught two sandbar sharks and a small bull shark withinn the last month fishing from Anna Maria Island where he lives.He also told me he saw a poster that Capt Bill Goldscmitt had posted somewhere about a kill shark tournament he was putting together-I'll have no part of that,,,,,,,good luck to him if he thinks that in this day and age he can pull that off and have a positive community response.I predict the Humane Society will be out there with there picket signs.

yea kill tournaments suck. unless it is a very common type of shark and all the meat goes to some kind of charity. i like the catch and release tournaments more. they promote the sport in a more positive light.
Yea Fishn Franks does one in Pt. Charlotte well they did a few years ago, wonder why no ones interested in getting on board with that one lol. I just dont see many people wanting to put their name on a kill tourney. Hell they even blasted Bucky Dennis for his hammers so bad he isnt harvesting anymore even for a record, so he claims anyway.

I wouldnt know what to do with it if I did get one by some miracle lol I dont have a truck I dont even know where an igfa scale is or know enough people to help me drag it off the beach lol. That would be a good thread, steps and procedure if you get a potential record fish
if we get a potential record of the beach we went to the first time im going through the neighbors yard. f@&k those stars. lol i think there is a scale in boca not sure
Me and Manny fished the pier this past Friday, we had 2 big runs on whole cownose rays both runs were good and long but could not get a hook in the fish. brought the baits in and the shark had almost the whole bait in its mouth except for hook. But getting 2 good runs from a big shark means there is hope.

NICE REPORT. IT LETS ME KNOW NOT TO FISH THE WEST COAST LOL PALM BEACH IS GOING OFF WITH HAMMER AND SPINNER. HOPE TO CATCH ONE SOON WITH PICS. I WAS UP ON THE WEST COST WEDESDAY AND CHECK IT OUT . THE WATER TEMP WAS VERY COLD. 
Still pretty cold water, its up to 63 degrees around here somewhere so it should be soon..hope to have a shark on the beach within about 2 weeks.
