Chris and I went out the other day with a small break between tests. Neither of us have been fishing since beginning of february so we were itching to hit the sand even though weather conditions were poor. We caught some fresh macks and had frozen rays for bait. Conditions were 25mph west wind, 4' surf, a ton of fog, water temp was 59, and a cold front rolling in on top of us. We could only see about 50yds clearly and after that even my headlamp disappeared in the fog. But nothing will deter me from doing our 300yd+ drops and it was really weird being in a blanket of fog and not even able to see the beach. We put out 5 rods and really quickly the bite turned on.
I started off with a 7' bull on the 14/0. Lookat how thick the fog even in the camera was.
I had my new orange avet 80w on the beach with brand new custom rod for the first time and it had a great night. A few hours after the first bull the fog cleared revealing a starry sky and I brought in a 4'10" finetooth shark which was a new species for me. I've been shark fishing for 6 years and never seen one on the west coast so that was exciting.
I got the last shark of the night which was a 6'1" bull caught on the orange 80w which hit around 2:30am. No more hits for rest of night. Hopefully next time you get one chris.
Nice, that big fish will always hit before right before the cold front. That's a cool little shark, they get up to 6ft but that's like a world record 
. There's so many little sharks in the keys that I've caught without being able to identify, that all look more or less like blacktips.
Just an average fisherman.

Nice report and bull, that fog will get you some times paddle out to far I ended up paddleing way way inside a pass once and not back to my beach
