That is a bigun. Its nice to see everyone giving nice replies. You, in time will find that you dont need that pier. It is nice to have a place ya can fish just whenever but ya ant gota have it to fish. Maybe fish the beach when the conditions are right and use the pier as a backup. It is unfair discrimination but the landbased sharkfishermen are not millionares and cant afford to go to court and compete with politicians. Money talks and BS walks. Every one needs to rember that bad news sells best and if news can be made bad it will be to make more money. If ya want to be on TV maybe play in a band, just dont call the buzzards to ya fish. The piers should pay us to remove the problem sharks from the large reefs they build on swimming beaches. Bull sharks are locals and return to the same place every year. Our tagging research has proved that. Seems like NOAA would mention this to the beach athorities and saftey management officals. Its like the movie Jaws, they want to hide from the facts and blame someone else. At pensacola they like to claim the fishermen are drawing the sharks to the beach. Its not the fisherman as much as its the reefs. Back in the old days at navare pier a big shark showed up his days were numbered.
