We arrived to Vero for a family vacation late Tuesday night on April 19th. We tried the beach wednesday night and got weeded out and wore out, it was relentless. Thursday we looked around and found a nice spot in the river. We had a screaming run while we were getting some bait rods set up, it ran like 15 seconds before I got to it and as soon as I pulled the rod out of the holder it turned around and came straight toward me wide open, then to the left and then to the right and was moving so fast that I never caught up to it, then it just dropped the bait. A little later we had a big hit and I came tight on it and the rod bowed over hard and the fish came to the top and thrashed about 200 yards from us and then broke off on something. Later we had another run and landed a small bull.

Fished the same spot the next night and not a click, thats why its called fishing I guess.
Took saturday night off and spent some quality time with my family, ate some Jamaican cuisine and it was awesome, but I did get in some ray gigging mid day to make bait and scouted out some spots for sunday.
Set up sunday night and put out 3 rays with plans to fish a couple hours and call it quits early so we could get some rest for the 14hr run home on Monday. Got a run about 1hr after dark and landed another bull, around 6'.

Another bait got hit several times but the fish would not comit to it, it did not have any chunks took out of it but it was mouthed heavily , kind of odd. The last bait when we pulled it in had a nice clean bite took out of it. We packed up early and got some rest. All in all even though we got weeded out on the beach we still got in a little shark fishing and had a nice vacation as always in vero.
