hammer comes up from miami on the way up his tire blows out. gets it fixed and hes ok so back on the road he is. gets here around 11 we load my gear in his truck and head to desoto with a yellowjack (hammerjr got for us) and a bat ray from my frezzer. we put out baits on outgoing (not the tide to fish desoto) 12/0 2 14/0s and a 9/0 i get a slow hit on the 9/0 and dropped the bait never to come back. we stayed all nite and left at 7 in the morning i have not slept, i had to help move some family at 8am.after i get done moving my family i meet up with jimbo, his sister sue(sue sue)
kim, and my buddy jay out on skyway for the out going tide. i arive at about 6 and hammer has already floated out half a bat ray on my 14/0 with old 100lbmono kims 12/0 with half a ray and 14/0 with a whole batray. at the chang of tide kim gets the distinctive jewfish hit(after fishing skyway your whole life you know the hit of a jew like no other) stets the hook and the belly of her line is in one of the rock piles, she fights it threw the rocks 4 about 30min in the meantime i get hit by a jew and set up with the runnin man hopin to get the line out of the rocks but no such luck. now its a double header kim gets popped and im the only one hooked up.my line is also in the rocks hammer gets hit and sets up misses and the fish comes back and hes hooked up 2 a jew,another double header
hammer runs down the bridge fightin his fish sees the head of the fish, the fish dies under nd pops him he says its the biggest hes seen.i get mine out of the rocks on 100 and the fish is now coming in crank fast and catchup just in time to drop down and stoh her from going under on me. surfaced its a 250-300lb jew. get pics and she leaves a big whole in the water when released. head over to the north pier 2 try the incoming. get there at the end of the tied and just throw a bait on the 14/0and toss it out (i still have not slept since 8oclockam the nite he picked me up. i walk to the other side of the pier tarpon fishing and hear j.d yelling i go over and the 14/0 is gettin hit i stickk the fish hard and shes pullin like a badass. big jew i can tell by the way she fightting about 30min later i surface her j.d say between 350-400lb get pics and head back to the south pier for out going put out baits and j.d gets hit by a shark and missed the set. i am goin to sleep with 2jewfish under my belt after no sleep for 40 and ahalf hours.
